Aluminum bronze process conditions

Mar 23, 2023

Through orthogonal test and comparative test, the hardening heat treatment process of Cu14AlX aluminum bronze alloy was optimized, and the primary and secondary order of the four factors affecting the hardenability of the alloy during the heat treatment process were found: solid solution temperature, aging time, aging temperature and solid solution temperature. melting time. Further studies have proved that the alloy can obtain a higher hardness of 48.2HRC through 840-880°C oil quenching solid solution and 570-600°C air-cooling aging treatment. The reason for the hardening is the uniform refinement of the eutectoid γ2 phase and the dispersed precipitation of the κ phase during the aging process.
The hardness performance of aluminum bronze alloy materials is related to many factors, such as pouring temperature, cooling rate, purification degree, heat treatment process, etc. Among them, the correct selection and matching of heat treatment process parameters is one of the main ways to improve the hardness of alloy materials. The strengthening of aluminum bronze is mainly carried out through solid solution, precipitation, dispersion and other methods. Factors such as solid solution and aging temperature and time of heat treatment are the main factors affecting the phase transformation and phase distribution of the alloy. The optimal matching value of all process parameters not only wastes a lot of manpower and material resources, but also fails to find comprehensive and credible test conclusions. Therefore, the orthogonal test is used to plan and rationally arrange fewer test times and a shorter test cycle on the orthogonal table, quickly find out the main factors that affect the result indicators, and then find the optimal process conditions.
