Phosphor bronze alloy preparation and testing methods

Nov 17, 2021

1. The required equipment and materials include electrolytic copper plate (Cu>99.99%), electrolytic phosphorous plate (P>99.99%), and mixed rare earths. The article uses an intermediate frequency vacuum induction furnace to smelt phosphor-copper alloy raw materials. In the process of the test, it is necessary to ensure that the content of phosphorus and rare earths remain unchanged, and then add different contents of electrolytic copper, go through a melting process such as vacuum-melting-standstill-casting, and cast into a test rod with a diameter of 10 cm. The rod is cut, processed into a cube sample of 1 cm in length, width, and height, and then cooled down to wait for the test to proceed. The purpose of the test is to analyze the mechanical properties and hardness of the phosphor bronze alloy after heat treatment

2. Test method. First divide the 15 cube samples into 3 groups, each with 5 cube samples; secondly, put the 3 groups of samples into an intermediate frequency induction furnace at temperatures of 870℃, 900℃ and 930℃ for 2 hours of heat preservation and solid solution Treatment; then, the three groups of samples that have undergone a solution treatment are subjected to a heat preservation and aging treatment for 2 hours, and the heat preservation temperatures are 450 ℃, 500 ℃, 550 ℃ and 600 ℃, respectively, in the as-cast state and the solid solution + aging During the process, the required equipment includes MEF3 optical microscope, JSM-6700E scanning electron microscope, and NR-H100 Blowie hardness tester. The auxiliary agents (erosion solution) involved are: 5 grams of FeCl3, 10 milliliters of hydrochloric acid, and 100 milliliters of absolute ethanol.
