Attention to the Centrifugal Casting Tin Bronze Copper Sleeve

Oct 14, 2021

In the standard GB/Tll76-1987. There are 3-8-6-1 cast tin bronze, 3-11-4 cast tin bronze, 5-5-5 cast tin bronze, 10-1 cast tin bronze, 10-5 cast tin bronze, 10 -2 Cast tin bronze, etc.

Tin bronze is a non-ferrous metal alloy with low casting shrinkage, which can be used to produce castings with complex shapes, clear contours and low air tightness requirements. The tin bronze copper sleeve is very resistant to corrosion in the atmosphere, sea water, fresh water and steam, and is widely used in steam boilers and sea-going ship parts.

Changzhou Pufa mainly produces 5-5-5, 10-1, 10-5 cast tin bronze, and its products include copper sleeves, copper tiles, copper slides, and copper worm wheels. In the actual application of cast tin bronze copper sleeves, in addition to tin, it also contains auxiliary strengthening elements such as zinc, lead, phosphorus or nickel, so the influence of them and impurity elements cannot be ignored.

The role of zinc. Adding an appropriate amount of zinc to the Cu-Sn binary alloy can reduce the crystallization temperature interval of the alloy, improve the casting performance of the alloy, reduce the wall thickness effect of tin bronze castings, and improve the water pressure resistance of the castings. Castings that need to be resistant to water pressure are necessary. The addition of Zn will slightly reduce the corrosion resistance of tin bronze. Therefore, in order to meet the requirements of different corrosion resistance and casting compactness, cast tin bronze with different tin-zinc ratios can be used.

The role of lead. After adding lead to the tin, the water pressure resistance of the casting can be improved. In addition, the lead in the copper alloy matrix as a granular soft point can also play a good self-lubricating effect during the sliding process and reduce the alloy Wear.

The role of phosphorus. Phosphorus has a strong influence on the structure and properties of the alloy. Phosphorus expands the crystallization temperature range of tin bronze, so the tendency to cause segregation is greater than that of tin bronze without phosphorus. Phosphorus has a great affinity for oxygen, and reduces many oxides in the alloy liquid to clean the alloy, thereby greatly improving the fluidity of the alloy.

The role of nickel. Adding nickel to the Cu-Sn binary alloy can refine the crystal grains, increase the strength of the alloy, reduce the alloy crystallization temperature interval, improve the compactness of the casting, and improve the alloy's ability to resist seawater corrosion.
